February News

What an exciting month February is! Valentine's Day and a new Debbie Bliss Magazine! If you haven't already suggested it, I'd recommend that you tell your loved one that nothing says "I love you" more than a pair of Signature Needles. I've finally managed to pick up a set of DPNs and start a pair of Froot Loop socks  (they're fun to knit, with a simple repeat pattern), and I have to agree with the people who have told me that they knit quicker on Signature Needles.

Yarn Box will be at Make, Do and Knit on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th March, 2010. If you can make it to Bluecoat School in Wavertree, Liverpool, please come and say hello. I'll be selling Signature Needles, Kollage Square Needles, and a selection of unusual yarns from Kollage, Blue Sky Alpacas, Spud & Chloe and others. I'm hoping to have a new range of hemp yarns with me too! To find out more about the show visit www.makedoandknit.com; there's also a group on Ravelry . I'll look forward to seeing you there.

Happy knitting!

Debbie Bliss Magazine - Issue 4 (Spring/Summer 2010)

It might look like winter outside, but once you see the new Debbie Bliss Magazine with its coastal theme and you won't be able to resist thinking of sunny days. There are 35 knits, 18 new designs and some of the most popular styles from previous collections plus regular features and new ones such as a fascinating article on knitting in Elizabethan England

Features include:

Creme de la Creme - relaxed knits for the perfect weekend,in classic shades of cream and stone.

Hamptons Home  - nautical style throws, cushions, bunting and a great carry bag for the beach.

Top Tanks - sophisticated knits, just perfect to give a touch of class to your holiday wardrobe.

Moroccan Sunset - a collection of knits shot in the sun-drenched desert of North Africa, in Debbie's earth and people friendly organic Fairtrade yarn Eco Aran.

Pure and Simple - four easy knits in summery sorbet shades for toddlers in  a soft new yarn, Eco Baby.

Milk yarn? 1/2 N 1/2 from Kollage

Feel like trying something new? How about milk yarn? Yarn Box now stocks 1/2 N 1/2 from Kollage a blend of 50% milk and 50% wool. It's beautifully soft and comes in a range of warm and wonderful colours perfect for winter accessories. These "Milky Mitts" only take 1 skein to knit.

Special Offer: Silk Embrace

I've decided to introduce a "Yarn of the Month" so that you can know you'll find something special on offer whenever you visit Yarn Box. Until the end of February, the very fluffy Silk Embrace from Artesano will be only £13.49 (that's 10% off the usual price of £14.99). It knits up really quickly and you don't need many balls to make a whole garment. Take a look at the lovely patterns available and choose from ten fabulous colours.

Signature Needles Go Circular

You might have heard that Signature Needle Arts have launched their circular needles. Yarn Box will be stocking them as soon as they become available - probably late March. In the meantime, there are still the single-ended needles and DPNS available. I'm trying to hold more in stock this year to avoid delays on deliveries but I can't hold all sizes all the time as that would be more than 300 pairs of needles! Please bear with me if you have to wait a few weeks for your needles. I'm trying to keep it to less than a month.
