Greetings
We hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a fabulous New Year and all the best for 2011.
Those of you who have visited us in 2010 will have seen the changes in the bar and we are delighted with the cosy relaxing area we have managed to create. In January we will begin refurbishing the restaurant which will include a wood burning stove in the small dining area next to the bar. In the main restaurant my father is building us some new wine cabinets which will be fitted in February. We hope you will come and let us know what you think very soon, we have some great breaks and events to tempt you.
January Seasonal Treats
It's surprising that in the depths of winter we can enjoy one of the sunniest fruits. Oranges from Europe are now in peak season, seek out navel oranges from Spain, easily identified by their belly button like mark on the flesh, these are sweet, seedless and easy to peel. Oranges are not only a beautiful juicing fruit but are excellent with chocolate in desserts and equally good with rich meats such as duck and belly pork.
Posh Noshers
To celebrate the season of Spanish oranges, Posh Noshers will be tasting the delights of Spain on Monday 17th January. We will begin with Sangria; combining wine with lovely fresh orange juice. Through the evening we will enjoy a four course dinner complimented by Spanish wines and punctuated by our wine speaker for the evening Janette McLoughlin from EWGA.
