Yarn Box News

August may not be a time when many of us think of knitting, whether it's because we have our hands full with children at home or we're looking forward to holidays in the sun, but it's quite an exciting time at Yarn Box. I've placed orders for the new season ranges and they are starting to arrive. There are new colours in much-loved yarns (watch out for new colours in Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend ) and new yarns from favourite suppliers. I'll be doing my best over the coming weeks to keep you up-to-date with what's coming in. Keep an eye on www.yarnbox.co.uk as everything goes online as soon as possible.

I've been trying to improve pattern information on Yarn Box by adding a pattern library with patterns sorted by type not yarn. Please take a look and let me know what you think! I'm also in the process of adding more pictures to show you what you can expect to find in the pattern books, I hope you like the new style.

Happy Knitting!

Lots of Noro

First in for the new season is the new range from Noro and Japanese fibre artist, Eisaku Noro. The range includes new colours in Silk Garden Chunky, Kureyon Sock and a new yarn - Yuzen .  If you'd like to find out more about Noro yarns and the unique Noro colour process, I'd recommend Noro World Of Nature (Vol.26), which includes over 20 Noro patterns including sweaters, skirts, legwarmers, socks and fascinating information about what makes Noro so unusual.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR AUGUST: Buy any 5 balls of Noro yarn and receive Noro World Of Nature (Vol 26.) FREE

New Books from Debbie Bliss

Debbie Bliss Knitting Magazine (Issue 3) will go on sale on September 3. It's available to pre-order now. For more information on what you'll find inside click here.

If you thought you'd missed out on Issue 2, there are a limited number of copies in stock. Grab one while you can!

Debbie Bliss also releases 2 new pattern collections for the new season. The Big Easy is a wonderful collection for the autumn in beautiful yarns in gorgeous colours, it almost makes me want the weather to change!  9-5 is a collection of patterns for children from five to nine. You'll be able to buy the yarns for the patterns from Yarn Box.

Spud and Chloe: Fine

Spud and Chloe is a new range from the makers of Blue Sky Alpacas. Fine is a superwash sock-weight yarn in 80% wool /  20% silk. It comes in nine uplifting colours and is ideal for Fair Isle, detailed work and, of course, socks!

Patterns available for Fine include these fun Dial-Up Gloves almost guaranteed to put a smile on your face, Two-for-One Socks  (as seen on the washing line!) and the very cute Baby Bartlett (sweater and hat set).

Royal from Blue Sky Alpacas

An incredibly soft 100% Royal Alpaca yarn available from Yarn Box in three colours: Alabaster, Cafe Au Lait and Seaglass. I love this Knot Hat pattern which would make a lovely gift or a special treat and uses only 1 skein of Royal. For those days when you're seeking true knitting luxury...

Watch out for...

End of season reductions will go onto the Special Offers page from time to time. There may be some bargains!

Yarn Box will be at the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace (8-11 October), why not stop by and say "hello"? I'll look foward to seeing you there!

Keep an eye open for Yarn Box adverts in Yarn Forward (Issue 16)and  Let's Knit (August), there are some special discount codes available.
